Hello there! Marnie here! I'm a Toronto-based naturopathic doctor and health educator who aims to understand and support people within the context of their unique environment.  I'll be your guide through this transformative process - helping you to make positive changes so you can experience your life with the maximum joy and energy possible. Module 1 - Introduction & Taking Inventory


Starting where you are, while moving towards where you want to be.


In this session we'll overview the modules of the course and understand why they are sequenced. This process isn't about going from "0 to 100 real fast" - it's about setting the foundations for sustainable change. In this session you'll get specific on your individual priorities- and make tangible commitments to help you move towards how you want to feel.


Topics covered:

  • In-depth understanding the stress response and its influence on everything from hormones to digestion.
  • An exercise on taking inventory of what going right (and not so right) in your health and your life.
  • Getting clear on EXACTLY how you want to feel with an exercise that helps you make empowered decisions to shift you from what's going on now - to what's possible. 


Module 2 - Ritualize your Routine 


Creating structure that gives you ENERGY and keeps you grounded.


We're going to get into the nitty-gritty of why you're "tired" but feeling a little "wired".  You'll learn how to encourage a circadian rhythm that gets your hormones and metabolism working for you - not against you. We'll do a deep dive into sleep - and why it's arguably more important than both exercise and diet combined with respect to weight management, inflammation and mood. "Say what?!?", is what you're thinking right now. Rest assured (pun intended), you'll understand the "why" of that statement by the end of the webinar.

  • Circadian rhythm 101
  • Intermittent fasting: the basics, how it influences metabolism, who it's right for, and how to do it.
  • "Real-world" approaches to sleep hygiene with an exercise that gets you loving your ZZZs.
  • We'll take an evidence-informed look at Melatonin and debunk common misconceptions.
  • 7 day challenge for shifting you back in to your natural rhythms.


Module 3 - Revitalize Digestion & Diet


It's not just "what" you eat - it's "how" your body processes what you eat.


You are what you eat! We've all heard that before, and it is 100% true. However, you can eat a picture-perfect diet and still feel bloated and experience indigestion. Get ready to understand digestion and bowel function like you never have before. "Did someone say poop?" - oh yes, we'll go there.

 

Better yet- we've got the "what you eat" fully covered with a guest speaker, holistic nutritionist Sarah Goldstein, who will discuss practical solutions to facilitate meal planning and prep. Oh - and there's a beautiful two week meal plan she has prepared for you which inspire your inner chef.

  • Overview of digestion, absorption- and how to move from bloated to comfortable in your jeans again.
  • Meal prep and planning 101.
  • Understanding what your body needs when it comes to macronutrients.
  • Cravings - finding the right approach to navigating the tougher ("F-it- I'm having a bag of chips!") moments.


Module 4 - Demystify Detox


So you want to do a "Detox"? Understanding the pathways of elimination.


Why do people always feel better after doing a juice cleanse??  Because they've started eating food again! (That is one of my favourite jokes...). 


Humour aside, although our bodies inherently detoxify on a daily basis, one could argue that as a society, we are more burdened environmentally and physiologically than ever before. Our elimination pathways often need a little extra support. I'll explain how you can support those pathways on the daily.

  • Overview of elimination pathways and how to identify which systems are burdened.
  • Identifying and removing (if possible) the factors causing dysfunction or burdening our detox pathways.
  • Practical strategies to encourage optimal elimination- and facilitate detox pathways.
  • How to amp a "spring cleanse" with additional support - what's safe, what's not.
  • Guidelines for a 30 day cleanse.

The content we’ve covered has you thinking deeper about certain aspects. I'm here to answer the most common questions I'm asked. We'll also highlight key take homes messages that will inspire you to stay on track.

  • Webinars will be live, running between 8pm- 9pm (don't worry - recordings will remain). 
  • All resources are downloadable and yours to keep! If you are a "paper person", I encourage you to print out the exercises.

  • The webinars are live - what if I miss one?

    Don’t worry - you will have access to the recordings within the course platform.

  • How long will I have access to the resources and videos?

    Course content will remain up for 60 days. You will be able to download everything to keep forever.

  • Do I need to download any software to for any elements of the course?

    No (thank goodness), everything will run through the platform.

  • Answers to your questions.

    Like with anything in life, you get out of something what you put in. The teachings and tools sequentially build upon your understanding and provide direction for sustained lifestyle changes. If you take the time to do the exercises and implement changes, you will feel better than before.
